The project involved removing and replacing a leaning 25 foot high double chimney with a large crack in it which suddenly became an emergency demolition project. After erection of scaffolding and shoring of the stack, the chimney was dismantled brick by brick with hammer and bolster to avoid vibration and possible collapse, then capped and vented at roof level.
