Kent Collage Pembury – Classroom Refurbishment

Job Location:

Pembury Kent Collage

Job Type:

Carpentry

Site Issue:

The current drama storage block is not fit for purpose; the client would like to completely refurbish this building into a well-being room for the students to relax and study in.

Scope of Works:

The existing electrical and heating systems will be isolated and removed. A new boiler and heating system will be installed, together with a complete rewire to ensure compliance with current regulations. Existing single-glazed windows and doors will be replaced with new double-glazed uPVC units.

Two existing door openings will be infilled using reclaimed bricks to best match the existing finish. All walls and ceilings will be insulated, as the current structure consists of solid walls without cavity insulation. Walls and ceilings will then be plasterboarded, taped, jointed, and decorated throughout.

New structural steel supports will be installed to prevent roof spread, as movement has occurred within the existing walls. New flooring will be laid throughout, and the internal layout will be reconfigured to create a safe, usable, and functional space for the students.
