Water is getting into the fabric of the building, causing damage internally
Safe system of work:
The courtyard below will be cordoned off with chapter 8 barriers to create a safe working area when
engineers are working overhead.
As we will be working on the other side of the key clamp edge protection, engineers will secure a
restraint lanyard strap around the steel work frame of the air handing unit, the connect to that with
a restraint lanyard and full body harness
The restraint lanyard will be 1m shorter than the edge of the roof where a fall could occur
Waterproofing:
Engineers will remove the stones and top metal capping sections approximately 3lm from the righthand
corner and set them aside for re-use
We will then seal up any gaps in the metal cladding and where the cladding and felt meet
Engineers will then apply a glass fibre-reinforcing waterproofing compound up and over the felt and
under the metal cladding capping, approximately 6sqm
Once the waterproofing compound has cured, we will apply a UV top coat
The existing metal cladding capping system will be reinstalled along with the stones
On completion of these works, engineers will remove all rubbish and leave site clean and tidy
